Some things are better left alone...

My parents decided to renovate the house beginning of April.  They wanted to extend the kitchen to make it bigger.  That will make us officially joined the majority Chinese community whom are known for tiling up everything in their house, leaving no patch of grass.  I, on the other hand, was protesting this the whole time because... 1. Firstly, I think it's a complete waste of money. 2. Secondly, I am losing the grass.  Although we have potted plants at home, it's different compare to grass.  Madhyam also misses the grass because the grass cools him down.  3. Thirdly, we have been staying in the house for more than 20 years and it was fine the way it was. Anyway, since it's their house, I can't say much.   From the beginning of the renovation till now, my dad has been complaining about it.  Poor workmanship, absenteeism, slow, dusty, dirty, etc.  He was grumpy everyday and he make sure we know about it. I am glad to ...

Full moon

Yesterday and today I am very moody.  Just not in the mood to do anything.  Maybe it's my hormones, or maybe....it's FULL MOON.   It was full moon yesterday and I know full moon has some effect on me.  Don't know why.  It's just one of those things.

Basic Sahaj Music - By Yeng Chan

This article was published in the Malaysian Yuva Shakti Newsletter 4th Issue - Apr 2010. Basic Sahaj Music - By Yeng Chan Sahaja Yoga Music or in short, Sahaj Music, is a form of technique that uses music to clear our chakras. In this article, I will explain on the connection of music to our chakras. Sahaj Music uses Indian Classical music notation. As we all know, we have 7 chakras in our subtle system. There are also 7 music notes in Indian classical music similar to the Western classical music. These notes are Shadja, Rishabh, Gandhar, Madhyam, Pancham, Dhaivat and Nishad. In short these notes can be referred as Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha and Ni. Each note corresponds to our chakras as it is given below. As the western classical music even the Indian classical share similar flat and sharp notes. The 5 additional notes are Re flat, Ga flat, Ma sharp, Dha flat and Ni flat. Flat notes are notes which are to the left of the original note while sharp notes are notes that are to the ri...

Melted frustrations

How many times on a typical day do we get frustrated? 1. Traffic jam 2. Funny people driving 3. Bosses This is my morning today. But something is different today compare to previous days. The frustrations melted within minutes. I don't know how and I don't know why. I am feeling free inside and my mind is not telling me how I should have answer back. The calm that I had before is back. The heart is beating at its normal tempo and not racing. Is it because there's Divine intervention?

Mogra

Photo taken from www.flowersof india.net I found out that there are 2 types of jasmine when I was told a story by a Sahaja Yogi. He said that one day Shri Mataji asked for mogra flowers and someone brought Her jasmine flowers and Shri Mataji said, no this is not mogra, this is jasmine.   What is the difference between jasmine and mogra?  Jasmine has fewer petals while mogra has many.  Both smell almost the same except that I find mogra's smell sweeter.   Here in Malaysia, we can find jasmine flowers a lot.  The Indians usually make garlands using jasmine buds.   One day, I found mogra.  And it was just a plant in my friend's house but since the flowering is not very frequent compare to a jasmine plant, no one notices that it is actually a mogra plant.  Then when it flowers, I told my friend, 'Hey this is the plant that Shri Mataji mentioned!!!' I was so happy to find that it's a mogra plant.  No one...

Matka pot treatment - Night 7

Yay, I have successfully completed all 7 nights. Why successfully? Because previously I could not finish the 7 nights for various reasons. Anyway, I slept like a baby and my left side is so much better. Personally I feel it is easier to clear the left than the right. Left side clearing we have candle treatment, matka pot, ajwain and camphor treatment, etc. But for right side, it's a lot of affirmation, some ice pack, and change of attitude and thinking. I don't know, maybe it's just me. Yesterday night I had a terrible right agnya catch that gave me massive headache. It happened on the way back from the hospital from visiting my grandma. It was so bad until I cannot meditate and cannot sleep. So, I did a second round of clearing (after the nightly footsoaking). I did the prayer for Shri Buddha, Lord's Prayer, mantra for right agnya, which is Shri Buddha and Shri Mahatahamkara and put ice on my right agnya. It took so long to get rid of it. In the end,...

Random thoughts

I have actually written through iGoogle and something happened and everything vanishes. I have been blogging through iGoogle for the past few days and I actually felt very out of touch with my blog.  Maybe because there's a few functions which cannot be used there, like I cannot post a photo from there. I was very emo yesterday, which got me to thinking. 'Am I happy?' I am talking about my job.  I drive to work, stuck in jam, do work, stuck in jam, come back home.   In my old job, because it was very near to my house, I was there within 5 minutes with no jams.  Everyday in my old job, there's work to do.  So much so that I have to come back during weekends to finish up.  That's when I found out that I am actually a workaholic.  I love being busy and people asking me questions (although when I was actually doing it, I was not so pleased about it).  Contradicting myself. Anyway, this new job is very relaxing.  My w...

Matka pot treatment - Night 6

Again cannot remember what I dreamt. It's a good sign I suppose. I realise that if I am not woken up by the alarm clock, then I can remember my dream. Anyway, I slept really well. Can also feel the clearing of my left side much better. I also feel that when I do my clearing at night with candle, it is much easier to clear now that I am also doing the matka pot treatment.

Matka pot treatment - Night 5

I was tossing and turning before I could fall asleep. I think it took me half an hour to nod off. Usually the moment my head touches the pillow, I am out. Maybe because yesterday my stomach was not too good. Anyway, I slept so well that I could not wake up this morning. I don't even remember what dream I have.

Matka pot treatment - Night 4

I can't remember much of the dream I had last night, I only remember my feelings of it. I felt very agitated. Also, I had a harder time falling asleep and woke up with left agnya catch. Maybe it's time to dispose the matka pot. I will try tonight again and see. Try to sleep early when doing the matka pot treatment to ensure maximum clearing.

Matka pot treatment - Night 3

Photo taken from www.imagebank.ie My dream last night was nicer than the previous nights. I was following Jackie Chan on a huge ship (not a cruise), but a cargo ship. I was there reluctantly due to some reasons which I cannot remember now. When I went to the side of the ship, I could see dolphins and whales swimming very close to the ship. I saw octopus being swept into the ship too. It was very nice to watch and I was so pleased. Then the ship stopped and we got down. Now Jackie Chan was no longer with me but I am with Sahajis. We visited this small town and the people were strange. Like want to cheat people. So, we quickly got back to the ship. Then the scene changed again and the ship has stopped somewhere again. Now I am with my family. Everyone was busy getting ready for something. It turns out to be the first day of Chinese New Year and also Election Day. And this Election Day, everyone needs to come in a family to do it in a big field. Some p...

Matka pot treatment - Night 2

I always like to do the matka pot treatment because I sleep really well and really deep.  Although I will have dreams but still the sleep is very peaceful. Last night I dreamt of my father, one of my cousins and my rakhi brother.  It was very 'rojak' (mixed) dream.  We were at a wedding dinner and don't know why suddenly my father walked angrily to one table at the back.  So, me and a friend (don't know who) went with him and saw him scolding my cousin.  This cousin in real life is very controlled by her father, so her behaviour is a bit strange.  But in the dream, she was like a gangster, wearing colourful, sexy clothes (very unlike her real life) and she was talking back to my father.  So, my friend and I quickly went there and stopped him.  He left and I apologised to her and she asked me to drink as a punishment and I said my friend will drink on my behalf.  Very drama like, like in TVB (Hong Kong TV). Then change of scene and my...

Matka pot treatment - Night 1

I started the matka pot treatment last night.  Been feeling a lot of left agnya catch lately, so thought that it is high time to do a matka pot treatment.  Here is what we need: 7 limes (I heard in Belgium, they used 7 lemons, so the pot that they used is so big and they have a hard time trying to dispose the pot after the 7 nights).  Cut the top of the limes to expose a bit of the flesh. 7 chillies.  Remove the top of the chillies (I don't know what you call, stem or stalk).  I used small chillies so that they can fit into the matka pot. 1 matka pot (here in Malaysia we used claypot that they cooked claypot rice, glazed inside so that it will not leak) Vibrated water So, you put everything into the pot and vibrate in front of Shri Mataji's photo.  Pray that the matka pot will absorb all the catches and negativities.  Then place it on the left side of the bed.  I put it under the bed but you can also put it on a side table on ...

Meditation relieves stress

I was really stressed when I was at my previous job.  Everyday was a battle, especially from February to August.  The work was interesting but the boss was even more interesting.  Work weekends, work overtime, rush and rush, get scolded if poor performance, work and work and no benefits. As a result of that, my hair was dropping significantly, I have more gray hair, my face was filled with pimples, sleep deprived and numerous health issues.  Due to the hectic schedule, I was not paying enough time to clear myself and meditate.  I took my health for granted.  I was not paying attention to anything else, except to work, work and work. The best part is I don't even notice that I was on a high stress level.  All I care was to finish my work on time and ensure that it is to near perfection.  I thought to myself, "I am still young, no problem, I can endure all of this."  I was already getting signs that I was imbalance (like all those symptoms...

Invitation to receive your Self-Realisation

I wanted to write a series of clearing techniques and so on.  Then I thought, I should start from self-realisation because some who comes to this blog are newcomers.  Then when I was searching for the foot-soaking technique online, I found a great website that have online Sahaja Yoga classes, teaching you techniques and affirmations and coupled by quotes from Shri Mataji. So instead of cut-and-paste, let me direct you to the website. Click here now to get your Self-Realisation today!

Vertical or horizontal?

I am talking about growth in Sahaj.  Which is more important?  Vertical or horizontal growth?  Was reading a blog by a Sahaja Yogini and she mentioned this in her blog.  It has been on my mind too. Vertical growth is growing deeper in Sahaj while horizontal growth is spreading Sahaj. I feel both are important.  We should never neglect both.  But we should also be balance in both. Shri Mataji has mentioned that vertical ascent can only be achieve when we grow horizontally. We should give SR to as many as possible without forgetting who we really are, i.e Shri Mataji's instrument, Her child and Her soldier of love.  We are also the spirit, neither the ego nor the superego.  While spreading Sahaj is an important task, let's also not forget to clear ourselves and stay balance in every waking moment.

Sisters in Sahaj (SIS)

One of the things that attracted me to Sahaj was how genuinely one treats another.  So much of love, care and real affections.  This is what Shri Mataji has given us, the ability to love and She said to love each other as She loves us.  There are a few sisters in Sahaj (SIS) that I have gotten close to since joining Sahaj 10 years ago.  These sisters are in the bhajan group too.  They are Lat, Mala, Gerty, Jaso and new addition Kim.  We got closer from Sahaj music class because in the class we were taught to share our experiences and our Guru-ji sometimes gives us constructive critism and taught us to open up to talk and sing.  We are all very honest and direct in the class.  That's how we get to know each other better, especially through vibrations.   These SIS have helped me a lot one way or the other.  Lat is an engineer and she is our teacher for Sahaj music class.  She learnt it when she was in Nagpur Music Academ...

Time out at ISYRHC - By Yeng Chan

This article was published in the Malaysian Yuva Shakti Newsletter - Issue 3, March 2010. JAI SHRI MATAJI! I was given a great opportunity by Shri Mataji last year, when I had the chance to go to the International Sahaja Yoga Research & Health Centre (ISYRHC). I was there from 29 November 2009 to 16 December 2009. A brief background of ISYRHC. It was inaugurated by Shri Mataji on 19 February 1996. Located at CBD, Belapur, Navi Mumbai, India, some Sahaja Yogis called it the “Vashi Hospital” as it is located near Vashi town. It is a place for Sahaja Yogis to get Sahaja Yoga treatment, whether for physical problems, mental, emotional or for spiritual ascent. The treatments are administered by Sahaja Yoga doctors using the tech-niques taught by Shri Mataji. It was truly 100% a relaxing time for me when I was there as I was completely cut off from TV, internet, responsibilities and duties. I went there alone, which was a good thing as you need a lot of “me” time for introspection....

I am a scare-dy cat

I got it from my dad.  Somehow our heart chakra is not that strong.  My sister got it from my mom and she has a lot of guts.  When I was in my teens, I would not even dare to talk to the salesgirl and have to push my friend to ask how much is something.  Everyone said I am a quiet person because I don't talk much.  If only they knew that I am quiet because I am too scared to talk.   Everyone thought that I am brave and confident with myself because I know how to deal with banks, does all the house admin work, the first person in my family to apply for credit card and cheque book while the other family members have no idea how to do any of those.  Well, it took me a long time to open up and learn all this.  But going to college helps a big deal to boost my self-confidence because by then I have to stay outside and be independent.  Also, not to mention, mixing with a good friend of mine from secondary school, whom had taught me a lo...

I love Google Translate

I am called a banana because I am yellow on the outside but white on the inside.  That means I am a Chinese but I cannot write or read Chinese.  But I am not a pure banana, I can at least speak my mother tongue, which is Cantonese and some Mandarin. So, since I am having a lot of free time in the office, I have started online Mandarin classes.  Well, I can speak some Mandarin and thanks to Cantonese, I can relate Cantonese to Mandarin and thanks to POL (people's own language) classes that I took when I was in Standard 3, that I know how to read and write some Chinese words, very very limited though. So, now I am learning to write Chinese online free of charge with the proper strokes.  It's quite easy to pick up as I already know some basic Chinese, like the han yi pin yin.   I wanted to learn Korean and Hindi too, but I thought better to start with Chinese since I need it at work, now that I have to deal with Shanghai.  So, it's good, I fe...

A new blog?

I have been playing with this idea in my head.  Writing a blog to earn money.  Since I have some free time at work, I have been reading some blogs.  I didn't know that there are bloggers who are working full-time just blogging and becoming celebrity bloggers and earning celebrity income through advertisements.  That sounds easy right? I am not going to make this blog into a money making blog.  No way am I going to make money with Sahaja Yoga.  So, I have been toying with the idea of maybe I can start a separate blog and write something I like and something that people will read.  Maybe then I will publicise it more (compare to now) and get known. So, what blog should I start? 1. Food blog - Well, there are way too many food blogs out there, especially Malaysian food blogs.  Of all the blogs, I feel a food blog is expensive because you need to spend on food first, then only you can write about them.  But you will get a lot of rea...

A time to forgive

I did a presentation yesterday in front of the collective.  From April 2010 onwards, every Yuva Shakti will need to present something to the collective.  This is because Shri Mataji mentioned that each and every Yuva Shakti should know public speaking.  The presentation will help them to be confident and courageous.  Anyway, I was a little nervous.  Although I hava made so many announcements before, presenting a topic in front of the collective is a whole new experience altogether.  I did a topic on Easter since today is Easter. Here is Shri Mataji's speech given on Easter Day 2008. “You have to forgive” - Easter Puja Talk “All of you who are here for the Puja, I don’t know how you have managed to come. Otherwise it’s a very important day today for all of us, because you know how Christ died. He was crucified. He was put on a cross and He died. He spoke about you people. He asked for forgiveness for all. What we have to learn from H...
