Sahaj Busy Book

I got this idea from the Montessori moms.  Some of these books are Christian based.  So I thought why not make a Sahaj based busy book instead.   After lots of planning and thinking, finally came up with a busy book that incorporates both learning and Sahaj knowledge.   The whole book is made of felt material, which is easily obtainable from Daiso and Popular.  I find Popular's price is better and with member discount is much more advantageous.  I used glue gun rather than sew as I want to make something fast. Page 1 Page 2 The first 2 pages are the counting and number pages.  This is pretty easy to make.  The numbers are from Miss A's sticker book which is reusable sticker, hence they are not so sticky and kept coming out.  I stuck it onto circle shaped mounting board measured to about 50 cent coin size.  The numbers are stuck on velcro and can be taken out to match the number of beads. An easy way to make rakhi strings

When you start receiving spam in this blog, it is time to start updating it before more spammers come in and think this blog is abandon. It's the time of the year again to tie rakhi for our brothers.  I have always enjoyed this special occasion thanks to Sahaja Yoga.  Being born a Chinese, I have never known such auspicious and beautiful occasion about Raksha Bandhan.  And being the first born in the family and having no brothers, I have always wanted to feel a brother's love.  So thankful for Sahaja Yoga to introduce me to this wonderful event of tying rakhi for your brother and getting your brother's love and affection. Having being confined in the house due to virus infections in the family, I missed collective for few weeks.  In fact, I wanted to teach to some yoginis how to make these rakhis and was informed to teach them too.  Unfortunately, the virus has isolated me and my family.  So last Saturday, while going deep into meditation (aft...

Raksha Bandhan - Making rakhis

I have always looked forward to Raksha Bandhan, every single year.  Maybe because the gifts are attractive. Every year, we have been making simple rakhis, in huge amount, to be distributed out to the collective.  This year, I learned to make rakhi the Indian way.  It's really simple to do but takes more time than the simple string that we have been making year after year. I used DMC embroidery threads that is from my abandoned cross stitch project.  Sorry, but I don't have the step-by-step method in pictures. Materials: Embroidery thread - normal colour Embroidery thread - silver or gold Fork Glue gun Beads / little flowers for decoration A partner to help you (optional but better) Method: 1. To make the centerpiece, first, take out 1 gold or silver embroidery thread and separate it from the main bundle.  The whole bundle consist of 6 threads.  Just take 1 out or the 6. 2. Take a fork and wrap the coloured embroidery t...
