Kids say the darndest things!

"Attention is very important thing, where it goes, what it says. So when, say children are describing something, tell you something, they’re very sweet. You should ask them questions. You must see that you ask them questions and they answer you very sweet sweet things, they answer. But in that, you should see where is their attention, what they are describing and what they are saying to you because they’re realized children and the realized children always talk in the third person also. Like you tell them, ‘Now, you better go home.’ So they’ll say, ‘This boy will not go.’ I tell you, he doesn’t want to go home. ‘This boy will not go,’ meaning this boy is different from the one which is speaking. So they speak like that and the way they speak and the way things they say, it’s beautiful things they say and one lady tried to   write  down certain things the children had to say about politics, about politician and then she wrote a book and the book was sold within one week’s time. To ooti or not to ooti

With my memory losing each day, I almost forgot that I have this blog.  Kidding. Happy (belated) Diwali!  I didn't forget this blog.  Just simply busy with other things. Just want to share a very special message that came to me during Diwali Puja last week. Before that, I have been struggling with the catch on the left agnya for couple of weeks now.  I tried candling, Raag Bhup for agnya and dhoop-ing the room but nothing works.   The yuvas were in charge of the puja this time.  One of them WhatsApp-ed me if I can join one of the ladies to do the ooti.  Since I have done few times already this year alone, I told the yuva to please give others a chance.  If he really can't find anyone, then I will do it.  Another reason of my reluctance was also because I can't fit into my sari blouses anymore and don't have the time to visit a tailor and those that I could fit in are not sent for dry-cleaning yet.   In that excuse, I was thinking, to give others a c

Did you see Shri Ganesha?

Image
Few days back, when I was feeding my girl dinner, she walked into the guest room.  It was dark as no lights were on and I gently closed the door so that to coax her out. As I opened the door, I saw her looking back into the dark and telling herself softly, "There's an elephant there." I overheard.  So I asked her to come inside the dark room with me and I closed the door again.  I asked her, "Where is the elephant?" She pointed into the dark, "There." I saw it was just pitch dark and nothing was there.  I asked again, "Are you sure it's there?" She said, "Yes." I asked, "Is it Shri Ganesha?" She said, "Yes." Now, I am not sure if she is making up story, but then again, she is only 2.5 years old.

Happy Raksha Bandhan to all my brothers!

Image
I have always love Raksha Bandhan.  Being the eldest in my family and growing up with no brothers, I have no idea what is brother's love.  I do have cousin brothers but being Chinese, brother's love was never emphasize.   Until I came to Sahaja Yoga and realized how precious this relationship is.   Having a brother means: Sponsoring my air ticket to Italy to attend his wedding Sponsoring my hotel stay in Italy (sharing with another sister) Came back into Custom's checkpoint (although he has exited) to check why I was held back by Custom at India Airport and he spoke to the Custom's officer in Hindi that I was his sister Giving good advice on Sahaja Yoga when I needed it Getting yuva shakti to help me with my luggage upon arrival at puja place And so many incidences and this is not just 1 brother You see, being the eldest in the family means I have to always walk ahead first, try out things on my own and the world was so scary.  I was always told

Making rakhis and more

Image
Hi everyone!  It's been 3 months since I last wrote.  Many bloggers are already quitting and moving to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  Since I am not famous and doesn't like to be in the public so much, I am still blogging, though not regular.  Even Blogger doesn't have new skin anymore. The last theme that was updated was 2 years back?  And I just checked and it's still the same skin offered. It's time for Raksha Bandhan again, so it's time to make rakhis! This year, I decided to spend more time to do something new.  Having a girl means I have to do twice the amount of rakhis.  For her, the rakhis will be simple.  For me, this is how it would look like. Found this new technique to weave a rakhi string using just 7 strings and a cardboard.  Learned this from Facebook.  Here's the link .   I thought this new style is very meaningful, 7 strings represent one chakra per string and weaving, intertwining with each other to become a nice b

Gratitude post

Today I would like to thank one person in my life who has been helping me out through all the bad times.  Throughout my almost 20 years experience in Sahaja Yoga, I have met countless number of different type of Sahaja Yogis.  But this one Sahaja Yogi stands out the most that I can see what Shri Mataji meant when She said Sahaja Yogis are Saints. Whenever we meet this person, I could feel cool vibes coming from this person.  Sometimes, the vibrations were so comforting that I could sleep peacefully after meeting this person.  Another person told me that sometimes after meeting this person, his nabhi gets settled and felt a sense of satisfaction.  Very seldom that I can feel cool breeze coming from another Sahaja Yogi.  But with this person, even if this person is far, I could already feel this person's vibrations.   Whenever I am troubled, this person would give the wisest advice of all, incorporating all Shri Mataji's advice.  This person would neither support any sid

The Types of Negativity within us

Recently I went through a rough patch of life.  Difference of opinions and ego clashed caused a small misunderstanding to become huge.   As I was recovering from it, I found that it was very difficult to get out of it and I didn't know why or how.  I kept feeling the ego but at the same time deny having ego and refused to clear it and feels it is someone else's ego.  I kept getting the message that it is my own ego causing havoc.  But at the same time, felt so wronged and misunderstood and felt that although it is partly my fault, but the other person also has their faults and was not told of it.  I was very frustrated.  I wanted to tell the whole world about the situation I was in.  Trying to get someone to sympathies with me yet when someone actually does, I felt so guilty.   Past few days was the hardest.  From feeling being victimized, it went to being in denial, anger, guilty and it kept on repeating.  From tears of sadness to tears of anger to tears of frustratio

Messages for today

Forgiveness Grit - The power of perseverance and passion "Among animals, this activity is  very  limited. I don’t think they believe in revenge, except for a few animals. They say that, if you  hurt  a snake, it will take its respite. It will come back on you. That’s what is said. And this one is one quality of the snake. But as we have passed through  all  these different categories, we might be having some of the qualities of some of these animals within us. We may be even snake animals. If the snake is within us, then anybody who  hurt s you, you will remember it all your life, “He  hurt  me, so I’ll put him right one day. I’ll take a revenge!”  – if there’s a  snake  within us. But now, if there’s a  tiger  within you: so you will become very  ferocious . At the smallest thing, you will get angry, lose temper. Now, this is not a very  good  situation: that we are still at the level of animals and our inheritance is still working in us. So we have to keep a watch,

Sahaj Busy Book

Image
I got this idea from the Montessori moms.  Some of these books are Christian based.  So I thought why not make a Sahaj based busy book instead.   After lots of planning and thinking, finally came up with a busy book that incorporates both learning and Sahaj knowledge.   The whole book is made of felt material, which is easily obtainable from Daiso and Popular.  I find Popular's price is better and with member discount is much more advantageous.  I used glue gun rather than sew as I want to make something fast. Page 1 Page 2 The first 2 pages are the counting and number pages.  This is pretty easy to make.  The numbers are from Miss A's sticker book which is reusable sticker, hence they are not so sticky and kept coming out.  I stuck it onto circle shaped mounting board measured to about 50 cent coin size.  The numbers are stuck on velcro and can be taken out to match the number of beads. Page 3 I love this page the most simply because it is most
