Stereotypical

I have to admit, China people do not give a very good impression to a lot of people, especially to the Chinese people who are not from China. If you have been following my blog, you will find that many years ago, after a trip to China, I told myself never to step foot into China ever again.  Until I married a husband who is a pure Chinaman.  Fate! Since marriage, I have to spend more time in China and have been trying to understand my frustrations towards China and it's people. Don't get me wrong.  I am not racist.  You can't be racist against your own race, right?  I am a Malaysian Chinese, born and bred in Malaysia.  My grandparents were from China, migrated to Malaysia seeking greener pastures. My maternal grandfather was married to an older Chinese woman before he left China for Malaysia.  I heard in the olden times, it was customary for a family to get an older woman to look  after their children and match them for marriage, ...

Positive vs. Negative

Today, I realised that negativity spreads much faster than positivity.  In this era, where dharma is lost and maryadas no longer followed, it's not surprising to see so much of negativity.  Sometimes, I do feel a bit helpless, that instead of spreading the positivity, I succumbed to the negativity. I saw this on Facebook and felt it is nice to share it here.  Very true. I feel that in every person, there is good and evil.  It is up to us to decide, which one we want to be.  But it is sad to see that evil is much easier to be than good.  Maybe because there is so much of evil in this world now, that it is becoming like a norm and thus everyone is doing it, like the saying, 'If you can't beat them, join them.' It is sad to see that many people prefer to be evil than be good.  Let's have a look at anger .  So easy to get angry nowadays and today it is what anger that spreads so fast, from one person to another.  It takes a very st...

Happy Raksha Bandhan 2012

To all my rakhi brothers out there, those I had tied the rakhi many, many years ago, Happy Raksha Bandhan to you all!   Errol Johnson, if you are reading this, Happy Raksha Bandhan to you, brother!  You are the first brother I tied rakhi to.  We haven't met for a long, long time.  Hope you are doing well with sister-in-law and your children.   Since I came to Sahaja Yoga in 2000, I was really amazed at the Raksha Bandhan ceremony.  It was then, that I was taught the beauty of the relationship between brother and sister.  The true brother and sister relationship, eventhough not blood related. Since I grew up without a brother (I only have a younger sister), I have wanted to have a brother for the longest time.  Before Sahaj, the male friends who treated me like a 'younger sister' had ulterior motives.  So, when I came into Sahaj, and was introduced this ceremony to me, I was overjoyed!  On the first Raksha Bandhan Ceremon...

Attention

A little poem

If the mind can be tamed, To believe that life is just a game, Then we won't feel so lame, And there is nothing to be blame, For everyone is just the same, Born with a name, Some has some fame, And some of us with a little flame.

Being optimistic

I have to admit, that being optimistic is very difficult for a pessimist like me.  The first sentence itself, you can tell that I am not an optimist.   However, no matter how pessimistic I am, I always try not to post any negative things inside this blog, no complains and no grudges.   Lately I discovered and confirmed myself being a pessimist.  I know it's not very good for me, in terms of health, mental health, etc, etc, so I try to remind myself to be more optimistic. When I drive to work every morning, I used to tune into this radio station which plays English oldies because I like oldies.  Somehow, the DJs for the morning session does not give out a positive aura.  Every morning, the DJs will asked people to call in and tell them about their problems.  If I can recalled much, Mondays is asking people to talk about their problems.  The DJs will give a topic like, 'Why do women complained so much?'    Callers who called i...
