Amidst the COVID-19 chaos and craziness, let's share something nice today.
Recently the heart is being attacked quite a bit. Because of the virus, many things has stopped but the anxiety, the fear, the panic around us has not. Racism is getting worse, people blaming because of the virus origins, lack of action from authorities, make many of us feeling angry, irritated and annoyed. Our anger is expressed openly on social media and we can see so many people are cursing one another. Whether it is the virus or not. Whether it is about Sahaj or not. Everyone is on the verge of breaking down.
Let's take a step back. We can't stop the virus for now. We can only contain it. And the best is through social distancing as we can see how it has helped some countries with their immediate response on cities locked down and quarantine. We can't change a lot of things as much as we wanted to. So, let's start changing the things that we can. And that is ourselves.
Put both hands on your chest. Close your eyes. Deep breathe few times. In your heart, with full sincerity, say the person's name that you find annoying or have hurt you and then say May God Bless You. You can say it as many times as you like.
This is like sending love to your enemy.
I taught it to our girl. One day her teacher scolded her for something and she wasn't happy about it. So at night, when we meditated together, she did this prayer. The next day, the teacher is happy and smiling again. Now, she would say, "Mama, May God Bless you." And she would say for each family member.
We can't change that person. But we can change how we feel about that person. By doing that, I felt my heart opened a little and felt so light. And suddenly I also felt the person actually change.
From this experience, suddenly I find myself kept hearing Shri Mataji talking about the heart, from different puja talks, every day (as I have been listening to Shri Mataji's talk on the way to work).
One talk that really strike me was Sahasrara Puja Talk, 1989 in Italy. Where She said the first era was the opening of the Sahasrara and the next era is for the heart. How we have to keep our heart clean and pure.
Then it came to me that my heart is not as open as I thought it should be. Assuming that we do meditation twice a day, for so many years, but the heart is still close. How to check? Ask these few questions:
"Do we harbour anger for so-and-so?"
"Do we feel envy or jealous for so-and-so?"
"Do we wish others to go through my pain?"
"Do we wish illness for others?"
"Do we feel we are better than others?"
"Do we hurt others?"
"Are we rude to others?"
"Do we help others willingly without expectations?"
And whatever question you feel relevant. Unfortunately my answer is I still do. How our heart is going to be open if we still do all of these? Many of us including myself still have a long way to go.
With the heart close, how can the Sahasrara be kept open? It's all connected. So, let's first open our heart. With our heart open, we can conquer much more. Whether it is the virus or not. We will be stronger than before. Share the love with everyone virtually
