The day before I leave for Cabella

Actually, it's 2 days before I leave for Cabella since I will be spending a night in London. There has been a lot of drama happening lately, testing my patience, my surrender-ness, my subtle being, my chakras, my attention and my vibrations.  Firstly there was some air ticket maya.  This will be the last time I am buying from budget airlines (well, unless I really have no choice like now).  All the time they are only thinking of making money from us.  Everything is money, even calling their helpline we have to pay.  If everything is in order, then no problem.  But if you have name wrongly spell, then too bad.  The amount of hassle.  Anyway, I haven't been on this airplane before so I don't know how's the service is like.  Maybe I might change my mind when I come back.  This will definitely be the last time I am doing booking for others.  Just too much hassle and too much inconvenience.  I would prefer to go through a t...

Some random stuff...

I am actually quite busy at work.  Need to come up with a report fast before my flight this Friday.  But after having dealt with numbers the whole day, I feel I need a break from it and let's just blog. Today is Onam Festival.  It is celebrated by Malayalees.  Many years ago, I didn't know that we have so many Indian groups.  I am only familiar with Tamilians because Malaysia has a lot of South Indians.  Later only I know that there are Malayalees too and most of them originated from Kerala.  I am familiar now with it because one of my friend is a Malayalee and I used to go to her parent's house during Onam to eat those super delicious Onam food.  Her mom is an excellent cook.  I especially missed the Pulisheri dish that her mom made.  It's a mango dish and it's oh-so-delicious.  My mouth is watering now as I type. Today it's also the Hungry Ghost Festival.  The Chinese will celebrate this.  I seriously do not und...

Recovering

I am definitely recovering, slowly but surely.  Manage to stop it before it travel to the throat.  And finished the course of antibiotics given.   Usually I will not take any antibiotics because I don't like the side effects.  I noticed that I become more irritable and hot and bothered when I am on antibiotics.  But this time I have no choice but to take it as I do not want to fly with congested nose.  Nope, not 13 hours of blocked nose and ears. I think doctors should give 2 days medical leave for flu patients.  One day is definitely not enough, especially when you are on antibiotics.  It makes you disorientated and weak and you can't focus on work.  Might as well rest and sleep at home right? Anyway, I feel my body is stabilising.  After the antibiotics effects were over, I am more settled and able to meditate properly. Today is Green Day in the office.  Everyone is encouraged to wear Green today.  It...

Oh no...I am sick again...

Yes, 3 months ago I had the same thing and 3 months later I am sick again.  I am getting tired of this and this time I have no choice but to take medication because of my trip next week.  I need to recover by then because I cannot sit on the plane with nose congested, I cannot be in front of Shri Mataji if I have a cough, I cannot be fully functional with medication and I cannot sing with a cough. This time I am running against time to recover.  I did gargle with salt water twice a day.  I take Septilin 2 tablets twice a day.  On top of that I am on strong antibiotics medication and that heats up my liver and I am ice packing every night.  My nose has stopped running but it has travelled to the throat and now my throat itches like crazy.  Controlling myself not to cough as I know once I get a cough, it takes months to recover.  Sigh...I really dislike being sick. I am getting very right sided trying to recover.  I know I need a lot o...

Jet lag

Whenever I traveled overseas, I always have a problem with jet lag.  I guess my body is too condition with time and not able to adjust quickly to the different time zones. When I first arrived in Cabella in 2001, I will wake up at 3am (Cabella time) and was wondering why.  Then I realised that Malaysian time was 6 hours ahead of Cabella and it was 9am, so it was the normal time to wake up.  I was seriously amused with how my body works. When I went to US in 2005 I was very hungry at midnight and would make myself some Maggi instant noodles.  That's because Malaysia is 12 hours ahead of US and it was lunch time in Malaysia. People say that it's not so bad when you travel to the east compare to traveling back to the west.  But it's still affects me quite a bit, lesser when I travel to the east and more when I come back to Malaysia. Whenever I come back to Malaysia I will usually sleep and sleep as the body tries to adjust back to the time. ...

Weather forecast

For the past few days, the weather forecast for Cabella and London is really cold (for a Malaysian).  It's half of the temperature in Malaysia.  In my office the air-cond is put at 16 degrees and it's freezing.  It's summer now, how come it's so cold?

Check list

Clothes & stuff - Check Luggage - Check Pack No.1 in No.2 - Check Passport - Check Air tickets - Check Currencies - Check Leave - TBA And it's another 13 days to go.

Travel around the world?

My friend told me that I have traveled around the world but I told her no, which is the truth.  I have only been to (from the oldest record to current): Singapore China (Beijing, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou) Australia (Melbourne, Sydney) Italy (Cabella Ligure, Genoa - coming soon) India (Mumbai, New Delhi) America (New York, Los Angeles) Indonesia (Batam) United Kingdom (London) - Coming soon That's it.  I won't take into account places that I have to transit like: Bangladesh - Dhaka (transit on the way to Cabella) UAE - Dubai (stayed one night, transit on the way to Cabella) Italy - Rome (1 hour transit on the way to Cabella) Sweden - Stockholm (1 hour transit on the way to New York) Taiwan - Taipei (1 hour transit on the way to Los Angeles)  There are still many places that I would like to visit like: Korea - My dad worked there for 2 years and my sister and my mom visited him there.  I didn't go due to work commitments but now regretted not...

Another short update

Today is the beginning of the fasting month and after one month, the Muslim will celebrate Hari Raya.  I can go back to my liver diet again as there will not be anymore office lunches. Right now, work is very busy.  It's always like this before any international pujas.  There are bound to have some maya that we have to go through somehow.  I am just surrendering it to the Divine.  In the past few days, I have been emotionally affected.  I am not sure what it is but it disturbed me until I have funny dreams.  Maybe because it's new moon, which I feel has an effect on me.  And when I become weak, my left agnya immediately gets affected and that's when I get funny dreams.  This makes me tired and then unable to meditate properly.  It's like a cycle and usually I can only break this cycle during the weekend when I have enough of rest.  OK, no more justifications.  Must break this cycle whenever I can by waking up earlier to ...

A short update...

As you have noticed, I have not been updating on my liver diet.  The liver diet has been broken off way too many times and I have lost count how many days I have not kept to the diet.  There's just too many farewell lunches/teas (for only one colleague) and eating all kinds of things.  I will still keep to it as much as possible but won't be updating daily one what I am eating.   On Sunday, I went for an ATV adventure at Kg.Kemensah.  It was the first time that I have attempted on such daring thing.  It was really fun but also very scary.  Definitely gave my heart, my right thumb and my arms a good workout.  Just to summarise the whole adventure in a few words, 'A must-do once in a lifetime.'  Yup, I am not going to do it again. Started packing for my Cabella trip.  Because of the limited kgs (only 15kg), I have to really limit a lot of stuff.  Since it's going to be cold in Cabella, I have to pack some warm clothe...

Liver diet - Day 2

I had cornflakes with milk for breakfast.  I am not taking a lot of milk, so this is alright as dairy is limited.  Moreover it is low fat milk. I have been telling myself to take photos of my lunch salad because it is very colourful but have not got a chance to do it.  Lunch was egg white sandwich with tomato and cucumber slices and tomato sauce.  Then I had fresh vegetables dipped in mint sauce as supplement.   And then for tea, there I go again breaking my liver diet by eating a Malay kuih by the name Denderam, which is deep fried and filled with brown sugar.  I just had one piece as it was offered by my colleague. Today is a busy day.  It's going to be like this for a few months and it's only going to be like this for the first 2 weeks of the month.  Although it's busy, it was not hectic like my previous firm.  We still have time to do our own stuff. Looks like more people are going to Cabella now.  Great!!!  I am so hap...

Liver diet - Day 1

Breakfast, I had potato bun with lettuce, tomatoes and egg white. Lunch, I had the same as above with salad.  Salad comprise of cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes with mint sauce. And then.....I broke my liver diet by eating.......PIZZA!!!!!  Well, I haven't had pizza for ages and I was looking at food blogs and a manager bought a lot of pizzas and since my lunch was only vegetables I was very hungry.  I thought by looking at Korean food blogs I will be less hungry because Korean food doesn't appeal to me.  Somehow the smell of the pizza and the sound of chomping made by my colleagues was too much. Anyway, it's just the first day.  Tomorrow can be the first day of the pure liver diet again.  LOL!!!  Well, for consolation, dinner will be back to liver diet.  I was to full for dinner so I just had a little bean sprout, egg with tomatoes and chicken.  My mom is so funny.  I told her to cook the chicken healthily, meaning not deep fried....

Doing liver diet again

A year ago, I posted about doing liver diet again.   But I didn't get to do it due to lack of commitment and sheer laziness to cook my own food.   However, now that I am quite free and I have an accomplice (my mom), both of us decided to do liver diet again.  My reason is purely to have better attention while my mom is for losing weight.   Starting from today, I will be doing this with my mom until I leave for Cabella.  If I can keep to it, then I would be on liver diet for almost a month, which I hope will help my attention a little bit more and to be able to prepare myself for the 2 pujas in Cabella. Although I will be following most of the liver diet, it will not be a strict liver diet but a more relaxing one.  Weekends we will try to eat what we want.  We will still avoid ice cream, dairy, fried and fatty food, but certain conditions like eating white bread or some other things will be allowed.  We don't want to be too conditio...
