Nice Accident

Last week, as I was driving to work, I had lots of negative thoughts and worries.  I felt as if a dark cloud over my head.  Felt helpless, stuck-and-wanting-to-get-out-but-can't that kind of feeling.   It was a depressing kind a feeling.  I was also feeling that something bad was going to happen. Suddenly I woke up from my deep thoughts and told myself to concentrate on the road since there are a lot of new drivers near my work place.  Lo and behold, a student, presumably a relatively new driver, rear-ended my car. Since she was rushing for class, I told her to go for her class first and we settle later.  We exchanged numbers and left.  My car seems like unscratched. While waiting for her to contact me, suddenly a yogi sister from another State, WhatsApp-ed me and asked how was I.  I was surprised to receive her message as we haven't seen each other for months and not messaged for more than 2 years.  She told me that she was...

Kids say the darndest things!

"Attention is very important thing, where it goes, what it says. So when, say children are describing something, tell you something, they’re very sweet. You should ask them questions. You must see that you ask them questions and they answer you very sweet sweet things, they answer. But in that, you should see where is their attention, what they are describing and what they are saying to you because they’re realized children and the realized children always talk in the third person also. Like you tell them, ‘Now, you better go home.’ So they’ll say, ‘This boy will not go.’ I tell you, he doesn’t want to go home. ‘This boy will not go,’ meaning this boy is different from the one which is speaking. So they speak like that and the way they speak and the way things they say, it’s beautiful things they say and one lady tried to   write  down certain things the children had to say about politics, about politician and then she wrote a book and the book was sold within one week’s time...

To ooti or not to ooti

With my memory losing each day, I almost forgot that I have this blog.  Kidding. Happy (belated) Diwali!  I didn't forget this blog.  Just simply busy with other things. Just want to share a very special message that came to me during Diwali Puja last week. Before that, I have been struggling with the catch on the left agnya for couple of weeks now.  I tried candling, Raag Bhup for agnya and dhoop-ing the room but nothing works.   The yuvas were in charge of the puja this time.  One of them WhatsApp-ed me if I can join one of the ladies to do the ooti.  Since I have done few times already this year alone, I told the yuva to please give others a chance.  If he really can't find anyone, then I will do it.  Another reason of my reluctance was also because I can't fit into my sari blouses anymore and don't have the time to visit a tailor and those that I could fit in are not sent for dry-cleaning yet.   In that...

Did you see Shri Ganesha?

Few days back, when I was feeding my girl dinner, she walked into the guest room.  It was dark as no lights were on and I gently closed the door so that to coax her out. As I opened the door, I saw her looking back into the dark and telling herself softly, "There's an elephant there." I overheard.  So I asked her to come inside the dark room with me and I closed the door again.  I asked her, "Where is the elephant?" She pointed into the dark, "There." I saw it was just pitch dark and nothing was there.  I asked again, "Are you sure it's there?" She said, "Yes." I asked, "Is it Shri Ganesha?" She said, "Yes." Now, I am not sure if she is making up story, but then again, she is only 2.5 years old.

Happy Raksha Bandhan to all my brothers!

I have always love Raksha Bandhan.  Being the eldest in my family and growing up with no brothers, I have no idea what is brother's love.  I do have cousin brothers but being Chinese, brother's love was never emphasize.   Until I came to Sahaja Yoga and realized how precious this relationship is.   Having a brother means: Sponsoring my air ticket to Italy to attend his wedding Sponsoring my hotel stay in Italy (sharing with another sister) Came back into Custom's checkpoint (although he has exited) to check why I was held back by Custom at India Airport and he spoke to the Custom's officer in Hindi that I was his sister Giving good advice on Sahaja Yoga when I needed it Getting yuva shakti to help me with my luggage upon arrival at puja place And so many incidences and this is not just 1 brother You see, being the eldest in the family means I have to always walk ahead first, try out things on my own and the world was so scary. ...

Making rakhis and more

Hi everyone!  It's been 3 months since I last wrote.  Many bloggers are already quitting and moving to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  Since I am not famous and doesn't like to be in the public so much, I am still blogging, though not regular.  Even Blogger doesn't have new skin anymore. The last theme that was updated was 2 years back?  And I just checked and it's still the same skin offered. It's time for Raksha Bandhan again, so it's time to make rakhis! This year, I decided to spend more time to do something new.  Having a girl means I have to do twice the amount of rakhis.  For her, the rakhis will be simple.  For me, this is how it would look like. Found this new technique to weave a rakhi string using just 7 strings and a cardboard.  Learned this from Facebook.  Here's the link .   I thought this new style is very meaningful, 7 strings represent one chakra per string and weaving, intertwining wit...

Resources for Children in Sahaja Yoga

I can't remember if I have shared this before.  This website, Mother's Love was created by the Borotin team.  It has online meditation for children and kid's bhajans.  All these videos can be found on YouTube. I have created a playlist for the online meditation on YouTube.  And this playlist is for all the kid's bhajans.  Please feel free to subscribe. Here, I would like to share some of the videos that my girl really love.  We put it on for her during footsoaking. Uppy Uppy Let's Be Silent Round and Round Jagadamba I Forgive Hanumana Hey Left Side Up Chandrama Kudos to the brothers and sisters who created these videos for the children.  Great work!
