Love is the only answer

I have not written for a long time and as I was lying down on my bed, nursing my little one,  I was browsing through Facebook. It's hard to go through the news feed without news of animals abuse,  child abuse,  no human rights, racialism,  war,  corruption,  suicides,  accidents, rapes, and so on and so forth. As I caressed my little one's forehead and feel cool breeze emiting through her Sahasrara,  I feel worried for her. Since becoming a mother,  stories about children getting hurt really disturbed me.   And it's so scary that it is happening so much more frequent.   Maybe because of social media,  we get the news instantly compared to the times before Facebook was born.  So we get to hear news of parent left baby in car and suffocated and died, or the parent who accidentally sat on the toddler and killed him instantly or fell off from high place, or legs got stuck in elevator and so on. We used to only se...

Raksha Bandhan - Making rakhis

I have always looked forward to Raksha Bandhan, every single year.  Maybe because the gifts are attractive. Every year, we have been making simple rakhis, in huge amount, to be distributed out to the collective.  This year, I learned to make rakhi the Indian way.  It's really simple to do but takes more time than the simple string that we have been making year after year. I used DMC embroidery threads that is from my abandoned cross stitch project.  Sorry, but I don't have the step-by-step method in pictures. Materials: Embroidery thread - normal colour Embroidery thread - silver or gold Fork Glue gun Beads / little flowers for decoration A partner to help you (optional but better) Method: 1. To make the centerpiece, first, take out 1 gold or silver embroidery thread and separate it from the main bundle.  The whole bundle consist of 6 threads.  Just take 1 out or the 6. 2. Take a fork and wrap the coloured embroidery t...

Everything happened for a reason

When we believe that everything happened for a reason, then we won't be disappointed. Since delivery, I feel as if there are way too many obstacles.  I am sure this is a test.  It has to be a test coz otherwise I cannot accept why it is happening like this. Everyday is a challenge.  Be it at home or at work.  Before the first issue subside, another issue arise.  It's been like that for the past few months. Having a baby does give us additional responsibility.  My duty to pump milk for her every few hours, everyday has been tiring but yet I felt very satisfying. It's the other things that are beyond my control that really irks me.  Things like people's behaviour, what others are saying, what others are doing to my baby and so on.  Every single day, without fail, all I can say is "I Surrender" but how much I am able to do it is another question. I am pretty sure the negativity out there is strong and keep pulling us down.  I ...

Help Mother Earth

When the haze was here, we asked for bandhan for the rain to come. Then floods came because of rain and we asked for bandhan for the rain to stop. Aren't we funny creatures?  We created all these disaster and we asked God to please fix it.   Like haze.  It is preventable?  Of course.  Stop burning forest.   Then someone said, "Look, if you stop burning forest, we won't buy your land.  Because that's the fastest way to clear a forest and we can't wait for you to clear it with excavators."   Then the producers said, "If we don't have clear land, we can't produce toilet papers, kitchen towels and all the pulp products that you need for your everyday use." Then we were like, "OK, burn the forest then." For floods, if there were trees to stop the fast flowing water, if there were soil to absorb the water, if it is not a concrete jungle, maybe floods won't happen.   All these are created by us and no o...

How to tell what is natural material?

Before Sahaj, I was not able to tell what material is natural and what is not.  I used to wear clothes that are polyester and doesn't feel a thing. After Sahaj, the artificial material have an effect on my skin.  If I wear polyester material, I tend to sweat more and it makes my skin itch.   There are few types of natural cloth material.  They are cotton, wool, silk, leather, fur, bamboo, hemp and jute.  I don't propagate wearing fur or leather as they killed animals for that.  Let's just talk about the natural sources from trees and fibers.  Then industrialization came and many people opted for synthetic material, saying it's easier, no need to iron, airy, easy to dry, etc.  Example like polyester, nylon and spandex.   True enough, cotton materials get crumple after each wash and you need to iron.  And because it's ability to absorb sweat, it makes one feel that it's hot compared to polyester.  But polyester stinks...

Miracle photos or not

Lately, there's this discussion happening on Facebook, all about real or fake miracle photos.  I am so happy that someone finally brought this up.  For a long time, I have been trying to tell people that it's very difficult to capture a miracle photo nowadays, especially with the new digital cameras.  It can create many effects that people might think it is a miracle photo. Back in those days, where film was used for those analog cameras, miracle photos was also rare but when we finally captured one, it feels like a blessing. Anyway, I am not going to share the photos that were discussed on Facebook.  The uncle has taken few photos all around Google, some Sahaj and some non-Sahaj to make comparison. Here's a recap: 1. Lights - These happened from slow shutter speed.  I am not a professional photographer, but I have taken many of these photos, whether at Sahaj events or not.  Try this at home with a digital camera.  Don't shoot the alt...

Information for pregnant Sahaja Yoginis

I have decided to gather all information for pregnant Sahaja Yoginis here.  This is probably not conclusive, so please feel free to add on if you have anymore inputs.  To read more about it, please go to amruta.org.   I guess the experience varies from individual to individual.  But I was very sensitive to vibrations and negativity when I was in my first trimester.  So much so that sometimes I have to do 2-3 times footsoak in a row in order to feel better.  But it gets better in the second trimester. As for havan, I was told that pregnant ladies can attend havan but have to sit far from the fire and don't sit too long.  This was advice by the Vashi doctors.  But my own experience, in which I attended one havan, I didn't feel good after that.  It's just my personal feelings about it as I was ultra-sensitive.  But I read some yoginis wrote that pregnant ladies should not attend havan altogether.  So, it really depends.  I ...
