Information is taken from SWAN and may be subjected to changes.

Mahasamadhi Day will be on 22-23 February 2012 at Delhi, India.  See details here.

As you can see above, highlighted is Shri Buddha Puja, which will be held in Malaysia.  We will be organising it together with the South East Asian countries, i.e Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China.

This will be the first time ever an International Puja to be held in Malaysia.  It will be pretty exciting.  It will be held in the north of Malaysia, in the Penang state.  Penang is famous for its delicious food, my favourites are Asam Laksa and Cendol.  It's about 4 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur.  However, you can choose to fly straight into Penang International Airport (depending on the airline).  For Air Asia, they have yet to cater flights from Australia and China direct to Penang.  Other than that, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong are OK.

Book your flight early with Air Asia (as they have the cheapest flights so far).  Check out their website and see which country flies direct to Malaysia via Air Asia.  You can also try other airlines.

A little bit about Penang.  It is a small island in the north of Malaysia.  You can drive into the island via the expressway or take the ferry or fly in.  Weather in Malaysia is humid all year round and depending on the monsoon season, we have rain and shine throughout.  Penang is surrounded by the sea, therefore footsoaking by the seaside will definitely be on the list.

I will post more details as and when I get more information about this puja.  Up to now, all we know is that the date and place is fixed.  Next will probably be about hotel accommodation.  Till then.
