How to apply for the Malaysia Long Term Social Visit Pass - Part 2

During application


1. Go to JIM Putrajaya by 7.30am.  That's when they start to distribute the queue number.  
2. While waiting for your turn, do arrange the documents in sequence, as per the list that was given earlier.  
3. It is best to go to JIM to apply for the LTSVP few days or immediately when your spouse arrived in Malaysia.  This is because they only have 30 days visa.  If you apply later, you will need to pay for an extra pass.  And then upon the approval of the LTSVP, you will need to pay again.
4. If you apply LTSVP when his pass is almost going to expire, you will have to wait at JIM until after lunch (few hours) to get a temporary special pass that is to allow for him to stay in Malaysia while waiting for the LTSVP.  I don'…

Pre-application
I will just go straight to the point.  The application process that I am mentioning below is for husband from Mainland China.  Apparently, on 13 December 2012, Jabatan Immigration Malaysia (JIM) issued a new rule, which is not out in the website or any newspaper for that matter, that all foreign husbands from China or Africa married to Malaysian women can only apply for the LTSVP upon 6 months of Malaysian marriage.  This rule doesn't apply to foreign wives who are married to Malaysian men, which personally I feel it's a discrimination to Malaysian women.  Anyway, I know they have their reasons, probably too much crime by Mainland Chinese or Africans men, I don't know.  Stereotyping still exists.

I have to post today due to the special date which happens once in a lifetime.

I have been missing in action, not because I was too busy, but just too many things happening right now.  And I will probably be missing more until, I don't know, when things kinda settles?
Meantime, I am now busy handling the Malaysian Long Term Social Visit Pass for my husband.  I will blog about it once it is done because I am hearing different things from different people.  There are some info that I can't get from the web, some info are outdated and it seems that different branch have different rules.  So, I won't be long.
